According to CBS Chicago and WBEZ, a 19-year-old woman identified as Jane Doe filed a civil lawsuit on October 20, 2026 in the Circuit Court of Cook County against the local and national Alpha Delta Phi organizations, alleging that at a party at the Alpha Delta Phi house at 5747 S. University Avenue on February 7, 2026, fraternity member Kevin Shim gave her a shot of unidentified alcohol; the complaint states she felt unsteady and lightheaded and alleges he coerced her upstairs and sexually assaulted her. The lawsuit also alleges fraternity members blocked her friends from reaching the bedroom. These are allegations in a civil complaint, not findings of fact by a court. No arrest or criminal charge of Kevin Shim has been verified in the cited sources; Chicago police reportedly took a report the day after the incident in which the woman said she feared she had been drugged.
